The Tipperary born popstar and television presenter recently shared her heartbreak following the death of her beloved pet dog, Charlie, just days before Christmas.

Charlie, a rescue dog adopted from Limerick Animal Welfare in 2023, quickly became a cherished member of Una’s family. He was a devoted companion to the singer and her children, Aoife and Tadhg, and often featured in the family’s social media posts.

Una frequently shared photos and videos of Charlie, capturing moments of play, affection, and quiet companionship that endeared him to her followers.

In a poignant Instagram post, Una announced Charlie’s passing, writing: "Sleep peacefully, sweet Charlie." The post included a video montage spanning the years of their time together, offering a glimpse of the joyful and loving moments shared with the dog.

The news drew a wave of sympathy and support from fans and fellow artists alike. Singer Aimee commented: "No greater loss like losing those little footsteps behind you, sending you all the love girly." Others echoed similar sentiments, with one follower writing:

"Can't imagine how painful this is. Sending you lots of love," while another said: "So sorry about Charlie, heartbreaking he was a lovely boy. Thinking of you all and sending so much love."

She went on to reflect on the timing of the loss, adding: "It's a very difficult time of year for anyone to lose a loved one, it's hard at any time. There's a lot of pressure to be extra happy and Christmassy and all of that."
