The annual Tipperary FET College Awards Ceremony took place on December 10 and recognised students who successfully completed certifications from Levels 1 to 5 on the National Framework of Qualifications.
Learners received awards across a broad range of disciplines, reflecting the diversity of programmes on offer at Tipperary FET College.
These included Digital Skills, Reading, Writing and Numeracy, Craft, Food Choice and Health, Drama, Four Stroke Engine Maintenance, Intercultural Awareness, Food Hygiene, Horticulture, Historical Studies and Healthcare Support.
Students from the Nenagh centre on Kenyon Street, also known as Teach an Léinn, were additionally recognised for successfully completing their Leaving Certificate through the college.
Addressing the gathering, Colin Cummins, Director of Further Education and Training with Tipperary ETB, described education as a lifelong and continuous process that enables people to adapt and thrive in an ever changing world.
He highlighted the wide range of progression pathways available through Tipperary FET College and emphasised the supports in place to help learners at every stage of their journey.
Two students also shared personal reflections during the ceremony. Mary Foote from Roscrea spoke about completing multiple NFQ modules from Levels 1 to 3 and said her time with the college helped her gain new skills, confidence and lasting friendships, along with a strong sense of belonging. She expressed her gratitude to tutors and staff for their continued support.
Olena Sydorenko, a second year VTOS student, thanked teachers at the Nenagh centre for their patience, kindness and encouragement, which she said played a key role in building confidence among students to continue learning.
