The traffic management arrangements will be in place from 19 January 2026 to 7 June 2026 and will affect the R-498 Castlemeadows as well as its junctions with Racecourse Road (L-4039) and Bohernanave (L-4027) in Thurles.
The measures are required to facilitate the construction of the R-498 Castlemeadows Active Travel Scheme. The project will include the installation of new cycle and pedestrian infrastructure, aimed at improving active travel connectivity along the R-498.
During the works, two-way traffic will be maintained on the R-498, with an intermittent Stop/Go system in operation. Road users are advised to expect delays while the works are ongoing.
