A tranche of capital funding announced by the Minister for Further and Higher Education, James Lawless, will channel fresh investment into third level campuses in Tipperary over the next two years.
The allocation forms part of a wider €41 million package of devolved capital grants for 2026 and 2027, aimed at supporting targeted infrastructure works across the higher education sector.

Within that national envelope, Technological University of the Shannon, which operates campuses in Thurles and Clonmel, is set to receive more than €3 million.
Mary Immaculate College will also benefit, with €700,000 earmarked for the institution, which delivers courses at the St Patrick campus in Thurles.
The funding is designed to give institutions flexibility to address a range of practical needs on their campuses.
Eligible projects include small scale building works, measures to improve energy efficiency and support decarbonisation, as well as health and safety interventions.
Institutions may also direct the grants towards improving access, refurbishing existing facilities, and purchasing or renewing equipment, including information and communications technology.
By focusing on devolved capital spending, the initiative allows colleges and universities to prioritise works that can be delivered relatively quickly and that respond to local requirements.
For campuses in Thurles and Clonmel, the allocations represent an opportunity to upgrade facilities and improve the learning environment for students and staff, while aligning with broader policy goals around sustainability and safety within the higher education system.
