SIPTU members employed by Caredoc have voted to accept a pay proposal in a ballot counted today (Tuesday, 20 January), which brings to an end a pay dispute involving support staff employed in Tipperary and throughout the country by the out-of-hours GP service.

SIPTU Organiser, Ger McNally, said: “SIPTU welcomes this outcome and believes it reflects the strong mandate of our members to secure fair and just pay increases in line with the Workplace Relations Commission agreement in relation to these workers.
“The local strike committee worked tirelessly throughout the process. Our members showed great strength, resolve and solidarity in bringing this dispute to a conclusion through the strategic use of industrial action that saw our members mount pickets for a day in December. This outcome will benefit workers and users of Caredoc services alike.”

He added: “SIPTU representatives look forward to working with Caredoc management and other stakeholders to ensure the agreed terms are implemented swiftly.”
