Two drivers have been caught in Tipperary following patrols carried out by the Tipperary Roads Policing Unit in the Cahir area.
In the first incident, Gardaí observed a motorist holding a mobile phone while driving and appearing distracted.
On further inspection, the driver was found to be an unaccompanied learner permit holder and had no insurance.

The vehicle was subsequently seized.
In a separate incident, a vehicle was flagged by the Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) system for having no insurance.
Further checks revealed the car’s NCT had expired in 2021.

That vehicle was also seized by guards at the scene.
Both drivers are scheduled to appear before the courts in relation to the offences.
Gardaí have reminded motorists of the importance of holding valid insurance and NCT certification, complying with learner permit regulations, and avoiding mobile phone use while driving.
