The decision was appealed by a number of local residents on August 29. The exclusion of key community infrastructure along the N76 and Mill Road including St Mary’s Church, Grangemockler NS and Cardinal Browne Community Centre along with individual homes and businesses from the treatment plant’s catchment area was highlighted in public submissions made to Tipperary County Council during the planning application process.
Earlier this month, An Coimisiún Pleanála granted permission for the development with revised conditions. It stated that the submissions made and the Inspector’s report were considered at a meeting held on February 9.
Following that meeting, the Commission decided to grant permission generally in accordance with the recommendations of the inspector, subject to conditions.
