Nenagh is gearing up for a vibrant St Patrick’s Day celebration this month, with a full programme of free entertainment, live music and family fun planned for March 16 and 17.

Tipperary County Council and Nenagh Tourist Office have announced a St Patrick’s Day Concert & Festival Market that promises to bring the town centre to life.

The main event takes place on Tuesday, March 17, at the Courthouse and Banba Square, with free admission for all. Gates open at 12pm, with live music kicking off from 1.15pm.

Headline acts on the day include popular performers Mickey Joe Harte and Trudi Lalor, joined by a stellar line-up of musical acts and surprise guests. Organisers say the event will showcase “world class Irish talent” in a festive outdoor setting.

Alongside the live performances, there will be artisan market stalls, a funfair and children’s entertainment, making it a family-friendly occasion. Motoring enthusiasts can also look forward to a Vintage Tractor and Nenagh Classic Cars Display, adding another colourful element to the celebrations.

The annual St. Patrick’s Day Walking Parade will also form a key part of the festivities. The parade sets out from Nenagh Railway Station at 1pm, travelling along Kenyon Street, turning right at Pearse Street and continuing onto Kickham Street before finishing at Banba Square. A prize will be awarded for the best float without a vehicle.

Festivities begin the evening before, on Monday, March 16, when Nenagh Tourist Office will host a special screening of “Nenagh: A Town With A Story To Tell.” Doors open at 6.30pm, with further details available from the Tourist Office.

With music, markets, motoring displays and a colourful parade all on the programme, Nenagh looks set for a St Patrick’s Day celebration to remember.
