As the better weather arrives have you ever thought about taking up Plein Air painting but not known how to get started?

Clonmel based artist Marine Kearney has all the answers. It will take place on Saturday April 4 from 10.30am to 1pm.The contact location is The Platform (Unit 12A opposite Regatta, Showgrounds Shopping Centre, Clonmel)

Marine says: “On the day we’ll have a demo outside in the car park in the Showgrounds, which has fantastic views of Clonmel and the Comeragh mountains. We’ll decide about compositions on site and I’ll guide you through how to select your composition.

“We’ll do a thumb sketch, then we’ll paint with two colours to begin the process. I’ll be giving tips and guide you all the way. This is the first step on your Plein Journey, for people who have never done Plein Air before.”

Clonmel Junction Festival Artistic Director, Rebecca Lenehan says: “Marine is such a wonderful artist and teacher that we’re delighted to include her workshop in the build-up to this year’s festival. The Plein Air will be a fantastic addition to the programme and having a Plein Air in Clonmel and the surrounding area will offer local artists the opportunity to try it out without needing to travel outside Tipperary.”

This workshop promises to be ideal for beginners or artists looking to try something new, offering a relaxed and supportive environment to explore the basics of Plein Air painting.

Places are limited to 12 participants to ensure everyone receives personalised guidance and the best possible learning experience. Please note that workshops are subject to sufficient enrolment, and we reserve the right to cancel and provide a full refund if necessary.
