Larry will repose on Friday evening at his daughter Angel’s home, 51 Hawthorn Drive, Thurles (E41 K529), from 5pm to 7pm. Interment will take place on Saturday at 12 noon in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.

The family have expressed their thanks for the support, prayers, and condolences received from all who knew Larry. Members of the public are invited to leave messages of sympathy in the online condolence section, where memories and tributes can be shared.

Paying tribute to Larry, friends and members of the community have shared heartfelt messages of sympathy. Michael Lowry TD said: “Condolences to the Buckley family, Susan and Angel on the sad passing of Larry. May his soul rest in peace.”

One friend commented: “Our sincerest sympathies to my dear friend Susan & Angel on the loss of their lovely Daddy. Also to Shannon, Patrick, Oliver, Josie and the extended Buckley family on their sad loss. May heaven be Larry’s bed and his memory a blessing to all who mourn his passing. R.I.P. xx.”

Other messages highlighted Larry’s kindness and sense of community. One noted: “We are so very sorry to hear of Larry’s sudden passing.

Thinking especially of Angel and all the Buckley family at this incredibly difficult time. May you find strength in the days ahead and comfort in the many happy memories you shared with him. Love also from Benji and Charlie, who were very lucky to have Larry mind them sometimes. May he rest in peace.”

A former colleague recalled: “I worked with Larry 45 years ago delivering the milk in Thurles. I’d call for Larry on my way as he then lived in Kincora Terrace, a quiet man who loved his music, especially Status Quo. Good to have the memories. RIP Larry.”
