Dave Bartley (L) of BMC Financial Planning with SYS Financial CEO Tony Delaney (R)
SYS Financial, one of Ireland’s leading financial advisory firms, has announced the acquisition of two Irish financial planning practices, BMC Financial Planning and Billy Phelan Financial Services Limited. SYS Financial has also acquired Wicklow financial planner Brendan Toolan’s book of business. The acquisitions have added €130 million to SYS Financial’s client assets under management (AUM), bringing its total AUM to over €800 million. With further acquisitions in the pipeline, SYS Financial is targeting €1.3 billion by the end of quarter two in 2026.
BMC Financial Planning was founded by Dave Bartley in 2008, providing a broad range of services including pensions, investments, life and income protection, and long-term financial planning. Headquartered in Charleville, Co. Cork, the firm manages approximately €85 million in client assets. Both Dave Bartley and Financial Adviser Denis Eivers will remain with the firm as it integrates with SYS Financial.

Billy Phelan Financial Services was founded in Waterford City in 2019 by highly experienced and respected broker Billy Phelan. With €25 million in client AUM, the practice’s services include advice and support on life insurance, savings and investments, retirement planning, income protection, inheritance tax and mortgages.
Brendan Toolan is a well-established financial planner in Greystones, Co. Wicklow, with an extensive client base and approximately €20 million in managed client assets. The acquisition of Brendan’s book of business ensures continuity of service for his clients while providing access to SYS Financial’s broader support and compliance infrastructure.
Tony Delaney, CEO of SYS Financial, said: “We are delighted to welcome these outstanding firms into SYS Financial. They have built trusted relationships with their clients over many years. Our role is to protect that trust while providing the scale, systems and support that allow advisers and clients alike to feel secure about the future. These acquisitions reflect our disciplined, values-led approach to growth and our commitment to long-term continuity rather than short-term expansion.”
Clients of all three practices will continue to receive personalised financial advice, with the added benefit of access to SYS Financial’s wider team of specialists, enhanced reporting, and robust compliance and governance frameworks. As with previous acquisitions, SYS Financial’s focus is on maintaining trusted adviser relationships while strengthening the support behind them.
