Residents in parts of county Tipperary have been left without a consistent water supply for over two weeks, with some households reporting no running water at all for 13 consecutive days, according to reports sent in to Tipperary Live from local residents.
The disruption is said to have affected communities across Monard, Cullen, and Limerick Junction, with growing frustration over what locals describe as a lack of communication and support from Uisce Éireann.
For one household at the end of the supply line near Monard and Cullen, the situation had become critical. Unlike others in the area who have experienced intermittent service, their water did not return at all during the outage.

The impact goes beyond inconvenience and families are struggling to manage basic daily needs, while those with livestock face additional pressure due to the high volume of water required for animal care.
“It’s extremely disruptive,” one resident who spoke to Tipperary Live said.
“If we had known it would last this long, we could have made arrangements. But we’ve been left completely in the dark.”

The issue appears to be widespread. A local Facebook group set up in response to the outage has already attracted more than 300 members, with many sharing similar experiences.
While some reported water returning sporadically, others said outages were occurring every second day. According to updates published by Uisce Éireann under reference TIP00108725, a temporary water supply was available in Cullen until March 23.
However, residents say the messaging is unclear and did not explain when normal service will resume. Frustration has been compounded by repeated attempts to seek answers.
One resident reported that they have been contacting the company daily but received little to no useful information regarding the cause of the outage or a timeline for restoration.
They had also reached out to local public representatives, but said these efforts did not produce meaningful results.
This is not the first time the area has experienced prolonged disruption. Earlier this year, residents endured a separate outage lasting over nine days, raising concerns about the reliability of the water infrastructure serving the region.
While most acknowledge that outages and maintenance are sometimes unavoidable, many say the current situation has crossed a line.
“The lack of communication is unacceptable,” a local resident added. “We’re not expecting miracles, but we do expect to be informed.”
An update provided by Uisce Éireann says that water supply returned to the area on March 23, after 15 days of disruption.
In a response to this article the company has issued a statement saying: “Uisce Éireann apologises for recent water outages in Ardloman, caused by both planned works and unexpected issues, and confirms that major upgrade works are underway to improve the reliability of the local water supply by the end of April.
Uisce Éireann is prioritising repairs in the most vulnerable areas of this extensive network to reduce bursts, improve overall pressure, and minimise leakage.”
