Festivals and community events across the Nenagh area are set for a major boost this year, with almost €90,000 allocated under the 2026 Festival and Events Grant Scheme.
Funding recommendations presented to the Nenagh Municipal District cover a wide range of arts, tourism and community initiatives across the district.
The largest allocation of €12,500 goes to the Spleodar Halloween Festival, while the Dromineer Nenagh Literary Festival will receive €6,000.
A number of other major events are also set to benefit, including €7,500 each for The Coming of Spring and Resonance Lough Derg, along with €6,500 for the Irish Youth Circus Gathering 2026 and €6,500 for the St Patrick’s Day Parade Nenagh.
Community-focused events feature strongly in the allocations, with €5,000 awarded to Taste of Nenagh and €5,000 to Féile Brian Ború.

Smaller grants have also been recommended for a wide range of local events, including €2,450 for the Newport St Patrick’s Day Parade, €2,100 for the Ballina/Killaloe St Patrick’s Day Parade and €2,000 for the Lorrha Lughnasa Heritage Festival.
A variety of sporting and cultural events will also receive support, reflecting the broad scope of the scheme across the district.
The funding is aimed at supporting local festivals, encouraging tourism and strengthening community activity throughout the Nenagh area.
