A 16-year old appeared at a court sitting in Thurles on Wednesday morning charged with murder
A youth appeared before Tipperary District Court sitting in Thurles on Wednesday morning, charged with the murder of a man in county Tipperary last year.
The alleged assault occurred in the Castlecranna area near Nenagh, on 10 March 2025. A man in his 30s, Stephen Clarke, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. He died in hospital on the morning of 25 April 2025.

The 16-year-old defendant cannot be identified because he is a juvenile.
Detective Garda Padraig O'Leary gave evidence of arrest, charge, and caution. He said the accused made no reply when the charge was put to him on Wednesday morning.
Judge Marie Keane said she did not have jurisdiction to grant bail on a charge of murder.
The court was told that there was a place available for the 16-year-old defendant at Oberstown Children Detention Campus in Dublin.

Judge Keane remanded the teenager to Oberstown to appear before Nenagh District Court via video-link on Wednesday, April 8.
