With Storm Dave due to hit Ireland this coming weekend, concerns have been raised about a leaning telephone pole leaning over the road at Scotts Cross, on the road between The Commons and Ballingarry.

Cllr Michael Brennan reported the public’s concerns, and both Tipperary County Council and Eir have been contacted for comment.

Met Éireann have issued a status yellow wind warning for the entire country on Thursday afternoon, forecasting very strong southerly winds, veering westerly by Saturday evening with severe gusts and coastal gales.

The warning will be in effect from 3pm on Saturday until midnight on Sunday.

The warning follows a mostly drier than average week, with conditions due to deteriorate over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend.
