The Abbey CBS Golf Classic will be held at Tipperary Golf Club on Thursday and Friday May 7/8
The Abbey School in Tipperary will run a Golf Classic on Thursday and Friday, May 7 and 8 in Tipperary Golf Club, with the aim of raising much-needed funds to improve IT infrastructure in the school.
In the past, previous golf classics have been used to aid in the development of school facilities such as the new PE hall and the state-of-the-art Astroturf pitch.
The golf classic, which has become a regular event in recent years, should bring in much-needed resources to help with school infrastructure.
The Abbey school principal, David Sadleir, is appealing to past pupils, local businesses and sports clubs to support the classic by entering teams or by sponsoring a tee box.
Teams of four are required and the cost is €200 per team; a meal is included following participation.

Businesses or individuals can make donations and/or sponsor a tee box for €50.
With recent improvements to the school that include the new centre for students with an ASD diagnosis, ‘Tearmain’, refurbished science labs, a toilet block and the new Astroturf pitch, the school has an impressive track record in improving and developing facilities.
A special launch of the classic was held on Friday March 27 in the Abbey School and it’s hoped to spread the word of the venture even further.
Anyone wishing to enter a team or sponsor a tee box should contact 086-0673271 or email info@abbeyschool.ie for further information.
The Abbey School has a long tradition of providing an excellent educational experience in the locality and is determined to continue to upgrade facilities in the school over the coming years.
While the Department of Education and Youth has supported significant investment in the school, fundraising events such as the golf classic allows the school to access resources that can improve the educational experience of the students with immediate impact.
The school really appreciates the support it receives from the local community and are committed to making the very best use of any financial support they receive.
If you are thinking about a second level school place for your son, school visits can be organised at any time by contacting the office on 062-52299.
