The annual awards day at the National Learning Network centre in Clonmel was a proud occasion for so many students and their families
The National Learning Network (NLN) Clonmel hosted its Annual Awards Ceremony celebrating the dedication, progress and achievements of its students.

The event opened with a warm welcome from NLN Area Manager Kitty Galvin Hennessy, who set an uplifting tone for the afternoon. She was followed by the ceremony’s comperes - Emma Casey, Katie Flynn, Patrick Duggan, and Jack Cavanagh, all current NLN students who confidently guided guests through the proceedings.
The ceremony featured several distinguished guest speakers, including Cllr Pat English, Mayor of Clonmel, Johnny Pettit, Regional Manager, National Learning Network,Matthew Ryan, Training Services Manager, Tipperary ETB and Orla Slattery, Disability Manager, HSE South Tipperary.

Their contributions reflected the strong collaboration between NLN and its community partners, highlighting shared commitments to education, inclusion, and personal development.
Former NLN students Mickey English and Michael Bowes delivered inspiring speeches about their journeys.
Mickey spoke about his progression from NLN into further education, expressing his motivation to continue education to third level.
Michael shared how his confidence and skills flourished during his time at NLN, crediting the staff’s support for inspiring him to pursue a path in Adult Education.
Mayor Cllr Pat English presented QQI, ICDL and ICDL Advanced certificates, acknowledging the hard work and achievement of students throughout the year.
An Employer’s Award, presented by Michelle Power (NLN) was awarded to Enable Ireland Clonmel and Petmania Clonmel in recognition of their ongoing support for NLN students during work placements.
A special moment of the ceremony was the presentation of the Roseville Community Student Award, an award given annually to a student who has made an exceptional contribution to the Roseville Community. This year’s award was proudly presented by Gerry Burke (NLN) to Emma Casey.
The National Learning Network Clonmel places strong emphasis not only on academic success but also on personal development. Students are encouraged to take part in a variety of activities that build confidence, resilience and life skills - supporting the development of well-rounded individuals.
Ancaire, the National Learning Network’s autism outreach service also based in Clonmel, provides specialised, person-centred support to individuals with a diagnosis of autism. The service provides support with communication skills, independent living, community access and social or recreational participation. Ancaire empowers service users to build confidence and thrive within their communities.

The National Learning Network is based on the Western Road, Clonmel, Co Tipperary, E91TW84. Four training courses are available; General Learning with ICDL, Retail Skills with ICDL, Employer Based Training programme and Options Rehabilitative Training programme.
