Colm Bonnar - was removed as Tipperary senior hurling Manager earlier this year.
The outgoing Secretary of the County Tipperary GAA Board Tim Floyd told delegates at the County Convention this afternoon that the removal of Colm Bonnar as Manager of the senior hurling team back in the summer, was the toughest decision during his sixteen years as County Secretary.
The Newport man said that having endured a very difficult season which saw Tipperary well below the expected levels of performance, and with the loss of two selectors at the end of the season, it was clear that something had to be done and ‘ruthless’ action was called for.
“It had been a very poor year and it was clear that nothing was going to change, so we had to take action,” he said, before adding that the move coincided with Liam Cahill becoming available. He wished the new management team the very best going forward.
