Dozens of vehicles were seized in Kildare yesterday (December 2) as part of An Garda Síochána's Christmas and New Year Road Safety initiative.
A staggering 18 vehicles were seized under the Road Traffic Act during Operation Surround, seven of which had no insurance, one with no tax, and 10 of which were driven by unaccompanied learner drivers.
Thirty eight Fixed Charge Penalty Notices were also issued for various offences.
Gardaí also arrested four people for driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol during the course of the same operation.
