Two young drivers on drugs have been caught racing each other at extremely dangerous speeds on a national road.
According to An Garda Síochána, Waterford Gardaí spotted the two cars racing in the midst of "a steady flow of Monday early morning traffic" along the N25 bypass.
Both drivers were travelling 180km/h in a 100km/h zone.
One of the drivers tested positive for cocaine, while the other tested positive for cannabis.
Both were arrested and have been charged to appear in court at a later date.
Gardaí posted about the incident on X (formerly Twitter) yesterday evening (Monday May 20), with X users condemning the behaviour of the drivers.
One person commented, "[sic] Absolutely incredible nobody was killed with one car doing that - but two cars racing each other - unbelievable nobodys' family was completely wiped out. Should be in jail."
Another commented, "Great job catching these two dummies before they killed some innocents."
Another commented reads, "Feck. What stupidity. Well done."
