Radio and TV star PJ Gallagher has shared an unusual gift he received in his letterbox by an unknown source.

The Dublin-born funny man took to X (formerly Twitter) to share a snap of the €100 he found in €5 notes he found randomly that was put through his letterbox this Wednesday morning.

People took to the comment section to share their reactions to the midweek windfall, with many attributing PJ's new RTÉ show as the likely source of the unexpected gift.

"Probably felt you were worth €100 for all the good that came out of your recent programme about mental health," one person wrote.

"They couldn’t afford the brown envelope! Joking aside, well done on your programme on RTÉ. A very important subject to highlight. A large clap on the back!," another said.

PJ Gallagher: Changing My Mind is a new candid RTÉ documentary exploring mental health in Ireland which aired on RTÉ One on Monday, May 20.

A few others joked in the comments of the comedian's post, asking if it were his 'communion or confirmation day' or if he was 'running for election'.

Over 21.8k people saw the tweet which PJ shared shortly before 9:30am this Wednesday. The anonymous source is yet to come forward!
