Twelve passengers and crew have been injured after turbulence on a flight inbound to Dublin Airport this afternoon.
Emergency services met the Qatar Airways flight from Doha and attended to the six passengers and six crew members injured after the flight experienced turbulence over Turkey.
In a statement, Dublin Airport Authority (daa) said: “Qatar Airways flight QR017 from Doha landed safely as scheduled at Dublin Airport shortly before 13.00 on Sunday.
"Upon landing, the aircraft was met by emergency services, including Airport Police and our Fire and Rescue department, due to 6 passengers and 6 crew on board reporting injuries after the aircraft experienced turbulence while airborne over Turkey.
"The Dublin Airport team continues to provide full assistance on the ground to passengers and airline staff,” added Graeme McQueen, Media Relations Manager at daa, the operator of Dublin Airport.
It comes just a week after a man died on a flight from London to Singapore and almost 100 were injured due to turbulence, including four Irish people.
