Two men are being treated in hospital following what has been described as a serious assault incident in west Cork.
Gardaí say they are investigating all of the circumstances in relation to the incident that occurred in Dunmanway shortly after 7pm this Saturday.
"Two men, aged in their 30s, have been taken to Cork University Hospital with serious injuries," said a spokesperson who added that the scene of the incident is currently preserved for a technical examination.

A major garda investigation us underway and a number of arrests have been made.
"Two men, aged in their 30s and 70s, were arrested and are currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a garda station in the Southern Region," said a spokesperson.
No further information relating to what happened have been disclosed publicly.
