The Food Safety Authority of Ireland is advising consumers that a recall notice has been issued relating to a batch of O'Flynn's Gourmet Sausage Company's Traditional Breakfast Sausages.
A 454g size packet of the product is being recalled due to the presence of salmonella and retailers are requested to remove the implicated batch from sale and display recall notices at point-of-sale.
Consumers are advised not to eat the implicated batch.
The recalled batch's approval number is IE 2917 EC, and the batch code is 241025, with an expiry date of 06/11/24.
According to the FSAI, the product is sold in SuperValu, Dunnes Stores, Aldi, and other smaller retailers.
Salmonella is a bacterial disease that infects the intestinal tract.
People infected with salmonella typically develop symptoms between 12 and 36 hours after infection, but this can also range between 6 and 72 hours.

The most common symptom is diarrhoea, which can sometimes be bloody and can also occasionally be severe enough to require hospital admission. Other symptoms may also include a fever, headache and abdominal cramps.
The illness usually lasts 4 to 7 days.
