A dramatic and worrying scene unfolded in one of Dublin's most popular spots, Grafton Street, at the height of rush hour, over the weekend.
After spotting a lorry driver attempt to drive down the pedestrianised street, gardaí were quick to apprehend the driver, suspecting he could be under the influence of alcohol or substances.
Upon being pulled over, the authorities came across at least five cans of alcohol in the vehicle, with one can brazenly being in the cup holder.
Quick action from the gardaí on patrol ensured the vehicle was seized before any significant harm was caused.

The official An Garda Síochána account took to their social media to share details and photos of the incident, which could have ended much worse if it has not been for the fast-acting officers on the busy street.
Taking to X, they gave a stark warning: "Think you could get away with drinking and driving? The driver of this lorry thought so, just as he started driving down Grafton Street at rush our in front of our members who were on the beat. They were quick to step in and stop him before he could go much further." .
The male operating the lorry was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and was later released from custody without charge, pending further investigation.
