Investigations underway as man dies in early morning crash

The road at the crash site is closed, with traffic diversions in place.

Killarney gardaí  appeal for witnesses as  traffic collision sees one man die

The scene is currently being examined by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

Gardaí in Killarney are appealing for witnesses following a fatal traffic collision in Co Kerry on Sunday, December 8.

Shortly after 7am, gardaí, along with local fire and emergency services responded to a single-vehicle road traffic collision involving a car on the N22 at Islandmore, Clonkeen, Killarney.

The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Formal identification is pending.

Garda Forensic Collision Investigators are examining the scene. 

The local Coroner has been notified and a post-mortem examination will be conducted.

Investigating Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Additionally, they are requesting those with camera footage, including motorists with dashcams from the area at the time, to make it available to them.
