Amid the destruction and chaos caused by Storm Éowyn's visit, a happy ending came about for one Argentinian tourist as gardaí came to her rescue when buses had stopped running.
In a social media post, Gardaí shared the story of two gardaí's encounter with Chiara, they said: "Chiara’s connecting flight from Dublin to make it home to Argentina after her trip to Ireland, was one of a handful of flights that were not cancelled yesterday morning.
"Sergeant Chris Jones and Garda Fionnbarr Thompson were on patrol in and around Dublin’s North Inner City in the early hours to see if anyone needed our assistance, when they spotted Chiara at the bus stop trying to get to the airport."

As there was not a bus or taxi to be seen, Chiara did not know what to do given her flight was still not confirmed as cancelled.
Gardaí told her not to panic and offered her a lift to the airport in the patrol car and said that they would get her there on time.
Chiara later shared a photo she had taken with the two gardaí and posted it to Instagram with the caption: "Your warmth and generosity brightened a gloomy day - what a wonderful example of Irish hospitality. Grateful to have been in a safe and welcoming city like Dublin."
Another said: "Well done Gardai, It's not often that this happens, that lady was lucky that ye were in her area as ye were so helpful. How lovely to see a kind act offered to someone in distress."
One former visitor to Ireland left a message for Sergeant Chris Jones, she said: "Well done and greetings from upstate New York to you, Sgt. Chris Jones! The police officers in Dublin are just wonderful! While visiting Dublin last May, I had a bad fall, breaking my leg and ankle. Sgt. Jones and two other officers came to my rescue. I will be forever grateful!"
