A post-mortem examination was carried out by the Assistant State Pathologist, Dr Margot Bolster and preliminary results were provided to the investigation team. These details are not being released for operational reasons.
Following the post-mortem, An Garda Síochána commenced a murder investigation.
One male, in his 20s, that was arrested and remained detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a Garda station in Cork has now been charged.

He is expected to appear before Midleton District Court this morning, Wednesday, April 16, at 10:30am.
A number of scenes subject to examination by the Garda Technical Bureau remain preserved at this time.
A senior officer is leading this investigation from the incident room at Midleton Garda Station. A family liaison officer continues to provide support to the family of the deceased.
Investigating Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to please come forward.
