Ryan Tubridy has announced his engagement to the 2010 Rose of Tralee winner and clinical psychologist Dr Clare Kambamettu.

The former Late Late Show host made the announcement on his Virgin Radio UK show on Tuesday morning after the jewellers he chose to purchase the ring from for his now fiancée posted on social media on Monday that Tubridy had bought a diamond ring from the shop. They then deleted the post.

O’Dalaigh Jewellers in Clifden posted a picture of the couple with staff members outside the jewellers and said that Tubridy had came to them looking for a ring for Dr Kambamettu.

However, as they posted it before the couple had a chance to announce it, the post was removed.

Speaking on the radio on Tuesday morning, Tubridy finally told listeners: "I have a little bit of news that I've been keeping to myself, to ourselves."

He then went on to confirm that he got engaged to his partner Clare in the west of Ireland last Thursday evening. He added: "I just decided now is the time."

The radio host said: "It's a very exciting time to be alive. I'm a very, very lucky man, and I think it's one of those beautiful moments where the world feels lighter."

Tubridy and Dr Kambamettu made their relationship public in 2023.
