Gardai seek witnesses as cyclist is seriously injured after being struck by lorry in Dublin

The road was closed for a period following the incident to facilitate technical examinations but it has since reopened and gardai say investigations are ongoing

Gardai are seeking witnesses following a road collision in Dublin, which resulted in a cyclist being hospitalised with serious injuries.
Emergency services attended the scene of the incident, involving a truck and a bicycle, at Con Colbert Road, Kilmainham, Dublin 8 shortly after 11am this Wednesday.

"The male cyclist, aged in his 40s, was conveyed to St James’s Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. No other injuries were reported at the time," said a garda spokesperson.

The road was closed for a period following the incident to facilitate technical examinations but it has since reopened and gardai say investigations are ongoing.

Any witnesses to the collision are asked to come forward and any road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam, and who were travelling in the area between 10.15am and 11.15am on Wednesday are asked to make this footage available.

Investigations are ongoing.
