A woman has been arrested after the death of a man in Co Tipperary.
Gardai said they were investigating a suspected fatal assault.
They were alerted to an incident in Carrick-on-Suir at approximately 11pm on Saturday.
A man was found unresponsive in a home and was later pronounced dead.
A woman in her 20s was arrested and is detained at a Tipperary garda station.
She was arrested under section four of the Criminal Justice Act. She can be held for up to 24 hours, excluding breaks.
The body remained at the home on Sunday morning and the scene was preserved for an investigation.
The coroner has been notified and assistance of the Garda technical bureau and Office of the State Pathologist has been requested.
A post-mortem examination will also be scheduled.
Investigating gardai are appealing to anyone who may have any information on the incident to come forward.
