Gardai are appealing for witnesses after a man died in a three car crash in County Kilkenny on Saturday evening.
They say the fatal incident occurred on the N10 at Templemartin at around 4.30pm.
"The driver and sole occupant of one of the vehicles, a man in his 40s, was pronounced deceased at the scene. An adult male and female travelling in the second car were taken to St. Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening," said a garda spokesperson who added that the occupants of the third vehicle did not require immediate hospital treatment.
Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene, and the local coroner has been notified.
Motorists are being advised the road will remain closed overnight and that local diversions are in place pending the completion of a full forensic collision investigation by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

Gardaí at Kilkenny garda station are appealing to anyone who was travelling on the N10 at Templemartin around the time of the collision to contact them. Road users with camera footage from that section of road during the relevant period are also asked to make it available to investigating officers.
