Ahead of the New Year celebrations which are quickly approaching, major supermarkets and retailers around Ireland have revealed their opening hours.
Some stores will remain closed or will shut their door early on New Year's Eve, (Wednesday) while most will be closed on New Year's Day (Thursday).
SuperValu stores across Ireland all independently owned and operated, which means their festive hours could differ from each other. Therefore, customers should check the hours at their local branch for accurate details.
Lidl says its stores will operate as normal (8am to 10pm) this Tuesday but will operate reduced hours on New Year's Eve when stores will open from 8am to 6pm.
The supermarket says its stories will remain is closed on January 1 2026, New Year's Day and stores will reopen at 8am on January 2 (Friday).

Opening hours for Tesco depend on the type of store (i.e. superstore or Tesco Express)
However, the general opening hours are 8am to 8pm on New Year's Eve with selected superstores opening from 10am to 6pm on New Year's Day.
Again, customers are advised to check the hours at their local branch.
Dunnes Stores opening hours are heavily dependent on the specific location so people are advised to check their local store.

Aldi says its stores will be open on New Year's Eve, but will only operate from 8am to 7pm.
Aldi stores across Ireland will be closed on New Year's Day (Thursday) the supermarket chain will reopen all of its stores as normal on Friday.
