St Mary’s Secondary School in Newport is a hive of activity this year

SOCCER
Well done to the First Year boys on a 3-2 win over Crescent Comprehensive in the North Munster League on Tuesday. The extended squad also played a friendly game today and came out 5-3 winners. Well done to all involved.

CONGRATS
Congratulations to Mohammud Amin, Kristians Bars, Joshua Devlin and Adam Perka who won the regional Irish Applied Maths Association "Junior Problem Solver Competition" on Thursday.

Excellently hosted by Scoil Pól Kilfinan, 30 teams from Ard Scoil Rís, Genstal Abbey, Villiers, Scoil Pól and St. Mary's contested the top prize. The students will contest the national final on 22nd of March.

AWARD - Student of the month
Marhharyt Zhartovska 6th Year wins this. Margo was nominated for student of the month for her contribution to the school community and her work in Art and History classes.

TRANSITION YEAR
Transition Year Enterprise students presented to Garry Lowe from Whizzkids as part of the Tipperary Student Enterprise awards competition. The students rose to the challenge completing presentations on their businesses that were worthy of Dragon’s Den.
