The Irish Women's 4x400 m relay team and the Irish Mixed 4x400m relay team have sealed their spot in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris at the World Athletics Relays in the Bahamas.

Both teams ran extremely impressive races to book their place at the Olympic Games.

First, it was the Mixed 4x400m team that consists of Cillin Greene, (Galway City Harriers), Rhasidat Adeleke (Tallaght AC), Thomas Barr (Ferrybank AC) and Sharlene Mawdsley (Newport AC) who ran an impressive 3:12.50 to win in their race.

Adeleke and Mawdsley then made an impressive turn around to run again for the Women's 4x400 relay team and clocked a time of 3:24.38, which was one and half seconds off the previous record. Joining them in this race with equally fine performances was Sophie Becker (Raheny Shamrock AC) and Phil Healy (Bandon AC).

Well done to everyone involved and we will all be tuned in to the Olympics in July to see how both the teams get on.
