The late Mary Anne Fogarty was warmly remembered by her friends and colleagues at Presentation Secondary School Thurles following her passing earlier this week

Warm tributes were paid to the late Mary Anne Fogarty earlier this week, from her former colleagues at Presentation Secondary School Thurles.

Ms Fograty, née Ryan, passed away on Tuesday October 13, her former colleagues paid testament to their former colleague and friend, for her skills in teaching and her success in leading teams to debating success.

“Mary Anne was a dedicated and inspirational teacher whose kindness, compassion and genuine care for her students touched countless lives.”

“She was passionate about teaching English and Geography, instilling a love and appreciation of both subjects in the many students who were fortunate enough to be taught by her.

“She gave so generously of her time and talents, always striving to bring out the very best in her students. She had a particular passion for debating and guided a number of teams to victory in the All-Ireland Concern Debating Final - a wonderful achievement and a testament to her dedication.

“Her warmth, kindness, friendship and wonderful spirit will always be remembered and deeply missed by the entire Presentation community.

“We were privileged to have worked alongside Mary Anne for so many years. She leaves behind a lasting legacy in the hearts of her colleagues and the generations of students whose lives she enriched.

“We extend our deepest and most sincere sympathies to Sean and all the Fogarty family at this very sad time.”

Mary Anne is survived by her husband Sean, sons William, Joseph and Sean Francis, and her extended family and friends.
