The country is set for another wet weekend according to Met Éireann's latest weather forecast.
Friday was a dull and miserable day and this cloudy weather will continue into Friday night. Some mist and fog will also develop over Friday night with outbreaks of rain or drizzle in southern and eastern areas. Temperatures will dip between 2 and 7 degrees from north to south, with light to moderate east to southeast winds.
Saturday will be off to a cloudy start with some patches of mist and fog. Outbreaks of rain will scatter throughout the country, however these showers will be more frequent in the south and east. Highest temperatures will range between 4 degrees in the northwest and 12 degrees in the southwest.

More persistent rain will continue into Saturday night, extending southwest and west as the night goes on with chances of some spot flooding. However, elsewhere should remain mostly dry with just the odd patches of rain. Similarly to Friday night, lowest temperatures will range from 2 to 7 degrees.
Although the southwestern half of the country will see some rain on Sunday morning, it will become patchier with good dry intervals in the afternoon. There should even be some hazy sunny spells! It will be mostly cloudy elsewhere with patchy rain and drizzle. Highest temperatures of 5 to 9 degrees, with the southwest enjoying milder winds.
Likewise, Sunday night will continue to be cloudy with patches of rain, however these showers will become more persistent as heavy rain moves in from the west. The east and northeast should be mostly safe from these heavy downpours. Lowest temperatures will range from 3 to 8 degrees, with coldest temperatures in the north.
Monday will see widespread rain which will become heavy at times with the chance of localised flooding. Highest temperatures should reach between 8 and 12 degrees. The rain is expected to continue through the night, though it will be milder than preceding nights.
Tuesday will be off to a wet start but the rain should gradually begin to clear from the south through the morning. It will be a drier day although not without some showers. Highest temperatures of 9 to 13 degrees with fresh and gusty south or southeast winds.
