The Broad Majestic Shannon in Kilbarron have announced the very first Shane MacGowan song interpretation workshop set to take place this weekend before the Shane MacGowan festival on Sunday.

The event titled "Will we find out what it means?" will take place on Saturday Aug 17 at 2.00pm in Kilbarron Hall.

Join them for a discussion on the writings of Shane MacGowan, where participants will have the opportunity to delve into the some of the references and meanings in Shane's work, particularly those which have a particular connection to his time spent in the local area and the influence of the legendary Lynch family.

The session will be attended by a number of people from the locality who may be able to help shed light on some of the imagery used in the selected songs.

Due to the nature of the event and to allow plenty of feedback from participants there will be just 20 places at the workshop.

A nominal fee of €10 is being charged to help with the running of the event.
