A disgraceful scene greeted members of Burgess GAA club in North Tipperary last Tuesday morning when they came upon a burnt-out car at the entrance to the pitch in the Kilcolman venue.
It is believed that the car was left and set on fire late on Monday night with nothing but the burnt-out shell of a Ford Focus left after emergency services came and doused the flames.
The intensity of the flames melted the tarmac underneath the vehicle, and members were relieved that the gate was securely locked so as to save the pitch and facilities inside.
It is not known who left the car ablaze at the prominent GAA venue.
See the video attached of what was left after the car fire was quelled on Tuesday morning.
