Culture at the Castle events are planned for 2026
The Cahir Social & Historical Society are delighted to present the Culture at the Castle series of events for 2026. All events take place in the Great Hall of Cahir Castle and start at 8pm.
First up on Friday, April 24, the series begins with historian, broadcaster, Irish Times contributor and university professor Diarmaid Ferriter.

Diarmaid will deliver a presentation on 'Politics, Piety, Population and the Plough: Ireland in 1926'. Admission is €15.
On Friday, May 15 the society are delighted to welcome Jim and Cáit Ryan from 'Jim o' the Mills', Upperchurch to the Great Hall in Cahir Castle. This promises to be a wonderful evening full of story-telling, traditional music and song.
On Friday, June 19 there will be a very special night of entertainment from the Banshee Brass Quintet and on Friday, July 17 the society will host Sarah Lafferty at the Great Hall of Cahir Castle for the final night of 'Culture at the Castle'.
Sarah will perform her one-woman show from the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, 'How to Become a Movie Star'. This promises to be a wonderful finale to the summer festival programme. Admission is €15.

Seating is limited for all these events so early booking is advised, and more information can be found at the society's social media page. .
