Tipperary actor receives rave reviews as lead in Dublin production of 'Lourdes'

Roscrea’s Riain Cash recently starred in the Dublin Theatre Festival production of ‘Lourdes’
Actor Riain Cash, who hails from Roscrea, Tipperary, recently took the lead role in Lourdes, a new musical featured as part of the Dublin Theatre Festival, which received a five-star review from The Irish Times.
Speaking to Riain, who is based in London, after he just finished the final night of the production in Dublin, he says he couldn't be happier with the final performance.
“I was really impressed. I was really overjoyed at how much support and love we got, especially on the last performance.”
The show is described as "a musical about miracles and the people who stage them. On the day Matthew’s life is finally about to begin, he receives news that changes him forever. Forever and ever, amen. Instead of facing reality, he runs to Lourdes, where faith is spectacle and a ragtag troupe of pilgrims are staging an amateur musical about Saint Bernadette. From the company behind the award-winning musical Oliver Cromwell is Really Very Sorry comes a sick new musical packed with holy bangers, emotional belters and a nun with a habit for DJing."
Speaking about the cast and crew Riain said: “It’s one of the loveliest groups of people that I’ve ever worked with. Everyone is lovely. Everyone’s so good at what they do. I’m very grateful to have been part of it.
